Chapters Books and Gifts is an independent, woman-owned book, toy, gift store, located on the historic downtown square in Seward, Nebraska, since 2004. We sell new children's and adults' books in all genres; high-quality, unique toys for children; jigsaw puzzles and games for all ages; and gifts for everyone. If we don't have what you're looking for, ask, and we'll do our best to find it for you!

We love to host authors--both local and nationally-known--for events. Former U.S. Poet Laureate and Pulitzer Prize-winner Ted Kooser is a frequent visitor to Chapters. We have signed copies of his books in stock, as well as signed books by other Nebraska authors. Self-published authors are welcome to contact us about carrying books on consignment. We also host storytimes and other activities for children and adults, including our annual summer camps.
Our mobile bookstore, Paige, is available to visit schools, churches, daycare centers, retirement communities, and other organizations for book fairs and events. We also host traditional book fairs and in-store book fairs during the fall and spring.Chapters offers a discount of 20% (we may be able to do more for large orders) on purchases by schools, churches, and libraries.
We strive to work cooperatively with the Friends of the Seward Library, the Seward Community Read to Me Program, Concordia University, Seward Arts Council, and local schools to promote reading and literacy efforts in our community. If your organization would like to bring an author to town or needs someone to sell books at your event, let us know. We're happy to work with you.
